Empowering Minds Restoring Communities

Project ORF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing free, holistic mental health education, support, and resources.

We serve teens & young adults ages 14-24 with the tools to prevent cycles of trauma.

We meet young people where they are and in their communities, to teach emotional awareness, coping skills, and self-advocacy.

The Problem:

Today’s youth—especially those in marginalized communities—are carrying more than they should have to. Pressures from social media, school, family challenges, community violence, and an uncertain future weigh heavily on them. Beneath the surface, many are struggling in silence. Too often, without early interventon, no one steps in until that quiet struggle turns into a crisis.

THE STATISTICS -

THE STATISTICS -

Project ORF operates in a context of urgent need. Virginia ranks 48th out of 51 for youth mental health risk factors, and 47% of public school students report persistent feelings of mental distress, highlighting the need for prevention-focused solutions (Mental Health America’s Youth Rankings, 2024).

By focusing on early intervention and reducing structural barriers to care, Project ORF addresses critical gaps in mental health. 50% of lifetime mental health conditions begin by age 14. And 75% by age 24. ‍(Mental Health Foundation, 2023).
